I once saw him fight a troll for over an hour, since both the Monk and the Troll had healing ability, so they kept healing and fighting, healing and fighting, healing and fighting for over an hour as he fought his way across the grassland. He could take down other stuff that gave us lots of trouble pretty quickly sometimes, but troll fights were truly epic. Probably not.ītw, my friend’s ultimate nemesis was always the Troll. If he started getting hurt a lot, just back off and run around and heal with your uber-heal spell that you start the game with.Īs for whether or not a Monk character is viable without the uber-heal spell that comes with fire vulnerability, I have no idea. All his fights lasted a long time, and always involved a lot of hit and run tactics. The 360 version is the one we all played, and watching the hand-to-hand fights while my friend was playing were always entertaining. The vulnerability to fire makes things extra exciting in the Oblivion gates later in the game, but the uber-heal is pretty important early when you’re just fighting with your fists. The basic thing that made his Monk character work is that he took the sign that gives you that awesome healing ability in exchange for vulnerability to fire. I have to admit, that out of all of our characters, the monk was the most fun character to watch play through the game. One of my roommates successfully played the game all the way through as a Monk.
